What are Bicone Beads?

Bicone beads take their name from their shape. Bicone Beads have a double cone (bi-cone).

Most commonly  Bicone Beads are made from either glass or acrylic.

They come in various different sizes and are very versatile making lovely pieces of jewellery. The bicone cut encourages the light to be reflected in such away that makes them sparkly and attractive.

At Jewellery Making Bits and Pieces we stock a variety of Bicone Beads.
We especially like the Acrylic Bicone Beads as they are light-weight meaning that you can add them to a piece of jewellery without making the resulting pieces of jewellery too heavy.

Opening and Closing Jump Rings.

Basic Jewellery Making Techniques

Opening and Closing Open Jump Rings.

Open Jump Rings are small rings that can be opened and closed to attach other elements to your jewellery piece. For example to add a charm to a bracelet.

Using two pairs of pliers the jump ring is held in one set

The wire opening pushed away with the other set.
To close the procedure is reversed.

Jump Rings should never be pulled apart to open as this can distort and weaken the ring.
